Theintention of “Assignment 1” was to test my skills of recordingthe events of an exciting and challenging outdoor activity that Ihave ever tried. I recounted my experience in rock climbing at MountFuji with my friends. I applied my descriptive skills and creativityto recount our achievements during the activity. Besides, Ichronicled the challenges we experienced on the way. Besides, theassignment also sought to make me think critically about the benefitsof the participants in the excursion acquired. For instance, thejourney enhanced our friendship ties and team spirit, as we had tohelp each other at different points. Moreover, the journey put to thetest our resilience in dealing with challenges. Mount Fuji is thehighest natural physical feature in Japan. Its highest point standsat 3,776 meters, and it draws several visitors because of itspanoramic view of the scenic beauty (DeepJapan, 2014). Moreover, itoffers individuals an opportunity to test their resilience andphysical strength.
Besides,the assignment sought to test my description skills, as it requiredme to retell the activities of the entire journey in a vivid way thata person reading the review would feel like he or she took part inthe trip. Subsequently, the chronicle covers the challenges we hadfaced before we reached our destination such as carrying heavybackpacks over steep cliffs and giving first aid services to theinjured. Some of our colleagues suffered from blisters, and we had totreat the sores and encourage them to press on until we accomplishedour mission of reaching the top of the mountain.
Thesecond assignment was a revision of the first description. Itaddressed some points that were mentioned in the first account butwere not adequately explained. The paper achieves the mission throughthe incorporation of the dialogue we had at different points. Forexample, the document incorporates the conversation between thewounded friend and the other climbers. The direct speech is essentialfor understanding the mood of the journey as it makes the readershave a typical firsthand experience of each phase of our excursion.The active voice used in the revised version gives the reader abetter comprehension of the mood of the journey because it brings outthe voices of my colleagues. For example, the team leader soundsunderstanding and empathetic after one of the hikers is injured inthe course of the journey. Overall, the resubmitted paper is easierto understand than the first copy because the writer has alsorestated some statements in a way that is easier to understand thanin the first edition.
